APSCo invites you to join Shandel McAuliffeGraeme Gemmell and Rani Nandan on July 11 to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of ED&I.

Shandel McAuliffe, Senior Account Director at Crafted Writing will provide attendees with:

  • An understanding of why DEI is important to both businesses and their candidates in 2023
  • Ways of articulating the different facets of DEI through your EVP to reach a wide audience
  • The ability to learn about the right language to use when talking about DEI
  • Ways to bridge the gaps between marketing, HR and line managers so DEI is supported cohesively across the business
  • The reasons why DEI transcends the words you use, and is about imagery, experience, and customer journey. 

Graeme Gemmell, National Manager at Recite Me will explain what the Recite Me toolbar currently offers and discuss:

  • Why businesses are looking to inclusion as a way to increase their talent pools
  • Why accessible websites need to consider both front and back-end design
  • How to understand where your site / digital landscape sits now in terms of accessibility
  • How being more inclusive can help you win business tenders
  • Examples of where Recite Me is already being used

Rani Nandan, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Director, APAC PageGroup will join Shandel and Graeme to discusss Michael Page's journey using Recite Me and across DEI more broadly.

Shandel McAuliffe
Senior Account Director, Crafted Writing

Shandel is a senior account director with Crafted Writing HR. Her most recent role prior to this was as the editor of HR Leader, a new HR publication focused on the main issues impacting the HR, L&D and recruitment industries.

Shandel worked in the UK for eight years from 2013 – 2021, and her experience there included over three years at the CIPD in their marketing, marcomms and events teams, followed by two-plus years with The Adecco Group UK&I in marketing, PR, internal comms and project management. Rounding out Shandel's experience in the HR industry, for the two years prior to her return to Australia she was the head of content for a full-lifecycle HR software solution: Cezanne HR.

Shandel has a keen interest in HR, leadership and psychology, including DEI and employee engagement.


 

Graeme Gemmell is the National Manager Australia and New Zealand for Recite Me Pty Ltd. Recite Me work with thousands of Australian and global companies who have the desire to make their digital content more accessible and inclusive to those people living with disabilities and / or language needs.

The Recite Me cloud based technology toolbar makes your website digitally inclusive by allowing visitors to customise your content so that they can consume it in ways that work best for the individual.

Graeme has over 20 years of experience in the technology sector, and prior to heading up the Recite Me team in Australia, worked in the legal process outsourcing space where technology was applied to assist law firms with electronic discovery. 

Graeme was personally affected by the accessibility issue some years ago, and is now a passionate advocate for inclusion and accessibility in all its forms.


Rani Nandan
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Director, APAC PageGroup

With more than 15 years experience working across retail, contact centre, and sales environments as an HR leader, Rani Nandan has a passion for diversity, inclusion, and HR business partnering. Since joining PageGroup in 2015, Rani has been the driving force behind progress in diversity and inclusion for the Australian business. 

In mid-2021, Rani was promoted to D&I Director, APAC. This role focuses on developing and deploying PageGroup’s DEI strategy across the Asia Pacific region, building on the framework she successfully delivered across Australia in the past six years. In this role, she works collaboratively with PageGroup’s global DEI team, the APAC Executive Leaders, and Country Heads across the region. 

This role aims to strengthen PageGroup’s DEI goals regionally and demonstrates the investment and commitment the business places on this important topic. 

Supporting her role, Rani is a member of the global sustainability working group, where she collaborates with business leaders to implement the sustainability goals the business has in place, as part of PageGroup’s membership and signatory to the United Nations Global Compact.
