The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) in Australia has announced that nominations for its 2021 Awards for Excellence will open on Monday June 21 in a revised format enabling Members and industry to celebrate with their local recruitment community.

The Association made significant changes during 2020 to its Awards program, not least the move to open entries to non-Members – driving an ‘industry best’ focus rather than a Member based reward system.

2021 sees further change as the Awards switch to a State competition, enabling entrants to compete at State level initially – culminating in a national winner across each category.

“Switching to a State focus was actually spearheaded by some of our Members who were eager to be involved in the Awards, yet are faced with the reality of ongoing lockdowns and border closures,” says APSCo Australia Managing Director, Lesley Horsburgh.

“We are very aware that everyone is eager to get out and mingle with their peers and colleagues but running the risk of having teams or individuals effectively stranded in quarantine is a real consideration for businesses. Our 2021 State Awards will drive a real sense of community among Members and offer a great story for clients and candidates of our winners and finalists at a local level – which is really important,” Lesley adds.

“Often Awards are a great way to drive celebration and positive messaging within teams but the cost and reality of potentially flying teams interstate to enjoy the celebrations is inhibitive – with our State focus businesses can ensure staff get equal opportunity to celebrate their achievements as a team and enjoy a great night out and potentially showcase themselves within their business community as the best.”

Depending on the number of entrants in each State, a corresponding dinner, cocktail evening or intimate celebration will be held.

APSCo will run the following categories across ACT, NSW, Qld, SA, Vic and WA:

Excellence in Client Service – NEW category for 2021

Best use of Digital

Best approach to Health & Wellbeing

Best WHS program

Most Innovative firm

CSR Initiative of the year

Excellence in Candidate Care

APSCo Managing Director’s Recognition Award

The categories of Best Performer and Most Improved Performance will be recognised at national level.
