When hiring talent, there are a range of visa restrictions, sponsorship types and general rights to live and work in Australia that recruiters must be aware of.

It is the responsibility of both recruiters and employers to understand and comply with these requirements prior to, and during, talent engagement.

If a candidate is engaged under false or incorrect conditions there are heavy penalties and fines or severe sanctions that will be enforced by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

Australian recruiters and employers are mandated to validate citizenship details and the work rights of individuals in their workforce. These work rights checks are a critical part of every on boarding process.

Two of APSCo Australia’s Skilled Migration Network have come together to provide some important reminders on the essential information required to maintain compliance with the legislative requirements in the complex area of Skilled Migration and how you can best support your clients when demand requires you to source talent.

Dianne Gibert Managing Director of Certex International will highlight the important elements of the Talent Engagement Standard’s Right to Work module and identify gaps and risks identified during TES audits.

Tania Evans from WorkPro will outline how the platform provides an opportunity for users to instantly view and verify candidate rights to work in Australia and meet compliance obligations using WorkPro’s seamless VEVO integration.

Attendees will be provided with a Right To Work Checklist and policy template.
